Giving Back!
At Sweet Pea Cakes, Etc. we are so thankful for the good things in our life and for each other. Being a single mother of two, young, beautiful girls, I know how precious life is and how fast they grow up. It is my job to show them how to give back and be thankful they are happy and healthy girls. We support the following charities and join in as much fundraising as we can for local schools, children, and our own Children's Hospital. Please take some time to visit these organizations today. Thank you!
When children lose their hair, whether as a result of medical treatments, health conditions, or burn accidents, they don’t just suffer physically. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To combat this additional trauma, Certified Cosmetic Therapist™ Jeffrey Paul founded Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1980. For the rest of the story visit Wigs for Kids!
This fall we will be raising money for Wigs for Kids through a silent auction. If you would like to donate an item to our silent auction in Littleton, CO please contact us at sweetpeacakesetc (at) yahoo (dot) com.
In 2000, a 4 year old cancer patient named Alexandra "Alex" Scott announced she would be holding a lemonade stand to raise money to help her doctors find a cure for kisd with cancer. Before Alex died on August 1st, 2004 when she was only 8, she raised over $1 million for childhood cancer research. This year my daughter will be holding a lemonade stand during lemonade days to raise money for childhood cancer. Her lemonade stand will be in Littleton, CO on Friday June 6th, 2008 and Saturday June 7th, 2008 from 11 am- 4 pm. Please stop by and donate. If you are unable to come to the lemonade stand, you can donate online. Please help us reach our goal of $10,000 by April 2009. We are planning on joining Lemonade days every year. Play the video below to find out about the event.
